Namibia is a republic located in southwestern Africa. Four countries surround it to the north, east, south-south and east: Angola, Zambia, Botswana and South Africa.
In the west the country is washed by the Atlantic Ocean. The capital of Namibia is Windhoek, the largest city in the country. According to the 2013 census, Namibia has approximately 2. 3 million inhabitants. Tribes and various nationalities live here. Most Namibians preach Christianity, the second part supports the local classical belief.
Namibia is mainly composed of highlands located in the center of the country. To the west, the elevated surface gives way to the Namib Desert, which opens the way to the Atlantic Ocean. Namibia is bordered on the south by the Orange River and to the east by the Kalahari Desert. The final north of the country is inhabited by jungle. The climatic conditions of Namibia tend to be dry and simple, typical of semi-deserts, where there is constant drought. It is very hot here during the day, and fresh at night. In coastal areas, due to the influence of the Atlantic Ocean, the climate is cool and dry. In the summer there are short rains, and in the winter there are practically no rains. The best season for a holiday in Namibia is summer (from November to April).

A little history of Namibia
Namibia is rich in local tribes, which have inhabited the local territory since ancient times. These are the Bushman tribes, and the Nama and Damara tribes. Some were engaged in gathering and hunting, others raised livestock and wandered. Somewhere in the sixteenth century, the Bantu, Ovambo Kavango and other tribes began to come from the north. As a result, the division of territory and constant invasion were replaced by one tribe to another. Europeans captured this area only at the end of the nineteenth century. The British made it their colony. Later, at the end of one thousand eight hundred and ninety, Namibia, with the exception of Walvis Bay, ceded to Germany as a result of the Anglo-German agreement. Decades later, the persistent struggle of local people made Namibia a free republic.

The country’s modern culture is an amalgamation of various cultural influences. There is something of nomads, hunters and herders here. The majority of the population is guided by the rules of behavior that are accepted in a society with developed commodity-Christian values and financial relations. As for food preferences, Namibian cuisine is national. It is distinguished by its uniqueness and originality, in addition, not paying attention to the lack of water and some products. With the seizure of territory by the colonialists, the range of local dishes became much richer. In meat dishes, the meat of crocodile, ostrich, zebra and other wild animals is often used.
