The majestic Chinese Wall is one of the most visited places in the world. More than 30 million tourists from various countries come to see me every year.

A little history of the Great Wall of China
The Great Wall of China was conceived as a means of defense against the attacks of aggressive nomads by Emperor Qing Shi Huang. It was a difficult time for China, at a time when it was necessary to secure its province and maintain the pure blood of the nation. It took more than two thousand years to complete the construction of this unimaginable object. Over the entire period, the labor of more than two million local residents was used. These were mainly the lower strata of the population: peasants, prisoners, slaves. But the military also participated. They had to work in very difficult conditions; many could not stand it and died from various diseases and the severity of the work.

The Great Wall of China is a grandiose landmark throughout Asia and China.
It is not surprising that a huge number of workers were required for the incredible dimensions of this wall. The height reaches nine meters, and the width varies from five to six meters. By the way, some fragments of the existing Great Wall of China were built even before its foundation. These are defensive towers located at equidistant distances from each other in certain areas.

A couple of sections of the Great Wall of China are open for tourists to visit:
- The most popular section of Badaling. It was built in the 14th-15th centuries by the Hongzhi Emperor.
- Mutianyu site, located near Badaling. It is unique in that three branches of the wall converge on it.
- At the Symatai site it is permissible to notice the original preserved architecture.
It is very interesting that one of the ends of the Great Wall of China enters the sea on the shore of the city of Shanghai Guan. By the way, to make it easier to see this landmark of China, there is a funicular in two sections. This makes inspection easier because descending steps of varying heights is very difficult.

The centuries-long duration of creation of this architectural creation determines the use of various structures and materials during construction. time and the huge territory of the structure, alas, became the reason for the beginning of destruction in some sections of the Great Wall of China. Only in one thousand, almost one thousand eighty-four, a program for the restoration and maintenance of this monument of the country’s cultural heritage was officially launched, financed from a variety of sources: the state budget, public money in the form of donations, foreign investments.
