Senegal
This country bears the official name – the Republic of Senegal. It is located on the Atlantic coast in the western part of the continent of Africa and has adjacent borders with its subsequent neighbors: Mauritania, Mali, Guinea and Guinea-Bisua.
The population of Senegal is 10. 3 million people, occupying a territorial area of 196. 7 thousand square meters. km. People speak French here, despite the fact that 98% of the population is from the Niger-Congo class, and Arabs and Lebanese live here. There are a couple of faiths here, but most are Sunni Muslims, while others are pagans or Christians.
Geographically, this government is divided into eleven regions, which include sixty-seven communes and three hundred and 20 rural districts. Senegal once had one political party (socialist). Since one thousand nine hundred and eighty-one, a multi-party system has been officially allowed and at the moment there are about 5 political parties. The country is headed by the president, and the laws are approved by the National Assembly and the country’s parliamentarians.

A little history of Senegal
The discovery of the lands of Senegal dates back to the mid-fifteenth century. The Portuguese were the first to find this territory; later, a hundred years later, the French, British and Dutch traders appeared here. 17-18 centuries Senegal was famous in those distant times as a center for the slave trade. In the nineteenth century, this state was a French colony. It was only in the middle of the twentieth century that Senegal became an independent republic.
