John soon realized that he had come up with something innovative and quickly patented his idea. And just a few years later (1889) he opened a small enterprise in Dublin called “Pigs Institution for the Sale of Pneumatic Tires and Bicycles”. Dunlop Tires is currently one of the largest tire manufacturers in the world.
